Hills Communities broke ground today on a new $36 million dollar gated apartment community.
The site of Palmera Apartments is at Butler-Warren Road near Bethany Road in Mason. Blue Ash-based Hills purchased the land nearly ten years ago.
The complex will consist of 360 luxury one, two and three bedroom apartments with both garden style and townhome models. Other amenities will include a 7,000-square-foot clubhouse, swimming pool, health and wellness center, tennis courts and an outdoor fireplace and lounge area.
Company officials say the Cincinnati/Dayton metroplex has not seen a new apartment community of this size in decades. The project is the largest community developed by Hills Communities in 15 years.
“Our research indicates there is nothing in the northern Cincinnati market that offers apartment living with this amount of space, and accompanied by the high-end design features that people will find at Palmera,” said Rusty Lykes, Hills’ senior vice president.
The first apartments are scheduled to be available for move-in the summer of 2011 with a projected completion date in the spring of 2013.
Hills will open an on-site leasing office in April and will release a pricing schedule then
