Ohio’s first elder abuse shelter to open in Mason

A Warren County retirement home plans to open the first elder abuse shelter in Ohio and one of the first in the nation.

The Shalom Center for Elder Abuse will open in January at Cedar Village Retirement Center, on Cedar Village Drive off Western Row Road in Mason, said Elliot Grossman, agency spokesman.

The facility will serve seniors in Hamilton, Butler, Clermont and Warren counties.

Cedar Village officials are holding a Monday breakfast to unveil details.
