Irwin-Simpson Road reopens after flooding

Posted by rrichardson January 17th, 2012, 12:31 pm

Update: The roadway is now open to traffic

Irwin-Simpson Road at Meadow and Wood Trail drives in Deerfield Township is closed due to flooding, reports township officials.

Although no flood warning has yet been issued for Warren County, the National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a flood warning for nearby Hamilton County, Northern Boone County and Dearborn County in southeastern Indiana until 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Heavy rainfall continues to fall across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky with another inch possible. Runoff from the excessive water will cause flooding to continue.

Storms are moving across the area from Indiana, the Weather Service said. Radar indicates that between 1 to 1.5 inches of rain fell across the area this morning. The additional heavy rain over the next several hours could produce another inch or two of rain.
