Alan H. Koblin has been named president of Clopay Plastic Products Co., a Mason-based manufacturer of specialty plastic films and building products.
Koblin joins the company from Silgan Plastics, where he’s served as president since 2007. Before that, Koblin worked at Churchill Industries, Occidental Chemical Corporation and the Gulf Oil Corporation. He will report to Ronald J. Kramer, CEO of Clopay’s New York-based parent company, Griffon Corp.
Koblin replaces Gary A. Abyad, who’s served as president since 2002. Abyad will assume a new role of senior advisor, reporting to Koblin.
“We are pleased that Alan Koblin has joined Clopay Plastics to lead our efforts,” said Kramer. “We have a significant opportunity to grow and enhance our profitability in the plastics business. I’m excited to have Alan working with us to implement our strategy and to drive superior value to our shareholders.”
