For the second day in a row, the Southwest Ohio Air Quality Agency has issued a smog alert for Thursday.
The alert affects Butler, Clermont, Hamilton and Warren counties in Ohio and Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties in Kentucky.
The agency expects levels of ozone in a range considered “unhealthy for sensitive groups,” which includes children, the elderly and people with respiratory problems. Those people are urged to remain indoors as much as possible.
For more information: www.SouthwestOhioAir.org. The Regional Ozone Coalition says people can help prevent the air quality from worsening by refueling vehicles after 8 p.m., avoiding quick accelerations and sudden stops, and cutting down on car trips.
