Mason head coach Linda Kirtley has been named the Div. I Tennis Coach of the Year in The Enquirer’s Spring Prep All-Stars round-up.
The Enquirer compiles the list each year, based on coaches’ recommendations.
Kirtley, a technology teacher, led the Comets to its first Greater Miami Conference title, beating out second-place Sycamore and third-place Princeton. Mason was led by sophomore Luke Tsai who won the second singles bracket and junior Jeremy Schneider who won the third singles bracket.
The Mason doubles team of Colin Heim and Young-Jin Kang won the second doubles bracket.
Tsai, Schneider, Heim and Kang were all named to the GMC First Team. Miguel Cepeda, John Mostowy and Alex Lebedev received 2nd Team All-GMC honors.
Kirtley was also named the Greater Miami Conference coach of the year.
