All-American Surf's UpMore than 40 body-board riders helped raise more than $1,000 for the Karen Wellington Foundation for Living with Breast Cancer Wednesday at Kings Island.

The fundraising event was part of the Fourth of July All-American Surf’s Up tournament at the Mason amusement park’s new Soak City water park.

Wave-seekers paid a $25 registration cost to ride KI’s Pipeline Paradise, with trophies and prizes awarded to the top three in different categories.

Friends and family of Karen Wellington helped establish the foundation after the Hyde Park woman died of breast cancer in 2007 at the age of 40.  The organization seeks to promote the quality of life for women with breast cancer and their families.
