Two West Chester Township detectives have been honored for their work in putting two Mason child abusers behind bars.
As first reported on WestChesterBuzz.com, Andrew Schweier and Dave Mize were honored by the U.S. Attorney’s Office earlier this month for their work in the case of Andrew Keith.
Keith, 29, of Mason, was sentenced in May to 80 years in prison for producing and sharing child pornography.
Prosecutors say Keith used his mother’s West Chester day care as a “personal hunting ground for victims” and routinely photographed the boys while he abused them. Keith pleaded guilty last year to 15 counts related to child pornography.
Mize was also honored by the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for his work in the case of another Mason child abuser, Ryan Fahrenkamp.
The former Lakota Schools teacher was sentenced to 15 years in prison last month on one count of transportation of child pornography and one count possession of child pornography.
In court documents, Fahrenkamp, 43, admitted he kept sexual images of children, including a former student, on his school-issued laptop computer and he used the computer to access pornographic websites.
