Janice Morse reports
The scene shocked even a veteran police officer: Dozens of vehicles with tires slashed, windows smashed and even a half-dozen set ablaze – one of which a neighbor put out with a garden hose.
Sgt. Brandon Lacy estimated that 40 vehicles were damaged in the Landen area near the Kroger store on Ohio 3 and U.S. Route 22 In his 16 years as a Warren County Sheriff’s deputy, he couldn’t recall having seen so many vehicles damaged in one night.
“It’s pretty heavy damage,” he said.
As of Tuesday afternoon, police had no theory as to who committed the mass vandalism – or why, Lacy said.
That’s why Lacy is asking anyone who spotted someone out of place early Tuesday morning in the South Harbor and Creekwoods subdivisions to contact him at 513-695-1280.
Reports and photos further detailing the damage were not immediately available.
