Junior forward Alex Niehoff scored the game’s lone goal with 30 minutes left in the second half to lead Mason to a 1-0 victory over St. Ursula in a matchup of top-3 soccer teams Monday.
Mason (2-0), which is ranked third in The Enquirer area Division I girls’ soccer coaches’ poll, received standout performances from its pair of goalkeepers, junior Kelsey Harris and freshman Toni Bizzarro. The duo combined for 13 saves, including eight by Bizzarro in a second half that saw No. 2 St. Ursula (0-1) pepper the Comets’ net.
