Firehouse Subs will hold a free fire safety event from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at its Deerfield Township location, 4750 Fields Ertel Road.

The Deerfield Township Fire Department will be on-site and will offer tours and viewings of its fire engines and rescue trucks. Personnel will teach children how to use a fire extinguisher to put out pretend flames.

The event, held in recognition of Fire Safety Month, offers family activities and free fire hats and cookies for kids. Ten percent of sales during event hours will be donated to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

Guests who purchase $1 or $5 medallions will receive a Duracell 9-volt battery for home smoke detectors. All funds raised benefit the foundation.

For more information, call Firehouse Subs at 513-583-8800.
