The Mason boys’ golf team recently won the southwest district golf tournament at Weatherwax golf course. Overall, Mason had a very successful fall winning Greater Miami Conference titles in both boys’ and girls’ soccer, as well as boys’ and girls’ golf and boys’ and girls’ cross country.
This week, the GMC champion soccer teams, as well as the Mason volleyball team will begin their postseason.
In addition to those sports, the doubles team of juniors Nina Cepeda and Lynn Kelly will represent Mason at this weekend’s state tennis tournament. The duo were state quarterfinalists last fall.
Also, in golf, both the boys’ and girls’ teams have advanced to participate at the state tournament this weekend at Ohio State University. The girls will be playing on the Gray golf course, while the boys’ will be playing on the Scarlet course.

Wednesday, Oct. 17
- Volleyball: Anderson at Mason (11-11, 7-2 in GMC) at Lakota East High School at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 18
- Boys’ soccer: Oak Hills/Glen Este winner at Mason (13-2-1, 9-0 in GMC) at 7 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 19
- Girls tennis: Mason doubles team at state meet at 9 a.m. at the Ohio State outdoor varsity tennis courts.
- Golf: Mason boys’ and girls’ golf teams at state meet at Ohio State University
Saturday, Oct. 20
- Girls tennis: Mason doubles team at state meet at 9 a.m. at Hilliard Davidson High School.
- Golf: Mason boys’ and girls’ golf teams at state meet at Ohio State University
- Girls’ soccer: Princeton/Northwest winner from Tuesday at Mason (14-1-1, 8-0-1 in GMC) at 2 p.m.
- Volleyball: (If Mason wins on Wednesday) Mason vs. Milford/Fairfield winner at Lakota East High School at 2:30 p.m.
