Cold front bringing wind, snow to area

Brenna R. Kelly reports:

It will be a blustery day across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the entire region and a winter weather advisory for Butler, Warren and Clinton counties in Ohio.

Winds will increase during the day Thursday as a strong low pressure system moves the area, according to the Weather Service. Sustained winds are expected to be between 25 and 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.

The Weather Service warns that the winds could cause scattered tree and power line damage this afternoon. The high winds could also make driving difficult. The wind advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. Thursday to 4 p.m. Friday.

The cold front is expected to move through the area late Thursday afternoon. That will bring snow to the region’s northern counties. A winter weather advisory will be in effect from 7 p.m. Thursday until 10 p.m. Friday. There could be up to two inches of snow in Butler, Warren and Clinton counties.

Temperatures are expected to fall quickly from tonight from the 40s to the 20s, that could result in slick spots on the roads, the Weather Service said.
