The Mason Community Center will offer classes this month for those interested in applying for a concealed carry permit.
The 12-hour, one-day class, which will be held at an off-site location, will cover Ohio gun laws and gun safety. Participants will receive a concealed carry weapon class certificate, which can then be presented as part of an application for a state-issued CCW permit.
The class is open to Ohio residents ages 21 and older, who have no felony convictions or charges and who have been an Ohio resident for at least 30 days and a county resident of at least 45 days.
Participants are required to provide their own handgun and ammunition and hearing and eye protection.
Classes are held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Jan. 12 or Jan. 26. The deadline to enter for the Jan. 12 class is Jan. 5; register for the Jan. 26 class by Jan. 19.
Cost is $90 for community center premier members; $106 for basic members; $116 for Mason residents and $126 for non-residents.
Register online at www.imaginemason.org/things-to-do (activity number 133808) or call the community center at 513-229-8555.
