Bundle up as you head out the door in your warmest bubble coat and mittens.
Frigid temperatures will grip Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky today with occasional snow showers until 10 a.m.
A light dusting of new snow is possible with heavier flurries that could reduce visibility on the road at times, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. Less than a half of an inch of snow could accumulate.
Slick spots could develop on the roads this morning, so take it easy on your way into work.
Wind chills are registering between 5 degrees below zero and above in the northern counties of Greater Cincinnati.
It’s 23 degrees with a wind chill of 10 at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport across the Ohio River in Hebron.
Later, the high temperature will struggle to reach 30 with wind chills in the upper teens and low 20s. Clouds will give way to a bit of sun by 5 p.m. The overnight low will fall to 18 with wind chills in the single digits.
Thursday should be mostly sunny but cold with the mercury only reaching 34.
Late Thursday and early Friday, there’s a 90 percent chance for a wintry mix of snow and rain that could switch over to all freezing rain and sleet. Light ice accumulation is possible in time for the morning rush hour Friday.
The precipitation will turn into rain by 10 a.m. as the high temperature soars to near 50 degrees.
