Sue Kiesewetter reports:
Kindergarten registration for the 2013-14 school year will be held April 4 at the Kings Education Center, 1797 King Ave.
From 4:30-7:30 p.m., parents can register their child for all day kindergarten at Kings Mills, J.F. Burns or South Lebanon elementary schools. A half-day program is also offered at Kings Mills Elementary School.
Children do not have to be present while parents are registering them. To be eligible for kindergarten, a child must be 5 years old by Sept. 30.
Registration packets are available at each of the elementary schools, at the education center or online at www.kingslocal.net. Completed forms should be brought when registering a child.
Parents should also bring the child’s original birth certificate or passport, social security number or card, completed papers, custody papers if applicable, immunization records, proof of residency and photo identification.
Acceptable proof of residency includes rental or lease agreements along with deeds or settlement papers.
Those who are unable to attend April 4 may register from 8:30 -11 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Kings Education Center. Those can’t make those times may call Tammy Schnetzer, 513-459-2932, to set up a registration appointment.
