Jennifer Edwards Baker reports:
We are finally going to enjoy some spring-like weather as the Easter weekend begins.
Today will be mostly sunny with a high of 48 degrees. That’s still a good 10 degrees below our normal temperature this time of year, but after weeks of below-normal figures and snow, it’s a welcome change.
We’re off to a frigid start this morning with 27 degrees being registered at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
Overnight lows will remain in the 20s and 30s through early next week, but our daytime highs will push into the upper 50s Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Expect mostly sun Friday and Saturday. In fact, Saturday will be the best day of the week with a high near 60.
Showers and possibly a thunderstorm will develop after 2 a.m. Easter Sunday and continue throughout the holiday. There’s 80 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms until 5 p.m. The high will reach 57.
On Sunday night, that precipitation could change to snow showers as the temperature falls to near-freezing at 35 degrees.
There’s a continued, 30 percent chance for snow showers for Cincinnati Reds Opening Day on Monday. It will be mostly cloudy with a high of 45.
The overnight low will be 28.
The sun will return Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the mid-to-upper 40s
