Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky home buyers and sellers had a great month in July, with the number of sales rising by nearly a third in both markets.
Southwest Ohio saw a 31 percent increase last month vs. July 2012, to 2,374, according to the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors — the most sales in one month since 2005. Median prices rose 11.5 percent over the same period.
The Cincinnati board also reported that year-to-date home sales through July were up nearly 23 percent compared to the same period a year ago.
The Northern Kentucky Association of Realtors reported a 32 percent increase over July 2012 – the highest number of sales in six years. Median prices in Northern Kentucky rose 5.5 percent from July 2012 to July 2013.
Nationally, home sales increased a seasonally adjusted 6.5 percent from June to July, according to the National Association of Realtors.
