Construction continues on Banshee, Kings Island’s new record-breaking roller coaster.
Crews began installing track supports for the coaster Friday. The coaster will be the world’s largest inverted steel coaster when it opens in April 2014.
Park visitors can get an aerial view of the Banshee construction from the Eiffel Tower when the park opens for Howl-O-Palooza on Sept. 22. The family-friendly event held in the park’s Soak City water park area features costume contests, hay bale mazes, a petting zoo, pony and miniature tractor rides and other games and activities.
Howl-O-Palooza is open on Saturday and Sundays through Oct. 27 and is included with park admission to Kings Island.
Halloween Haunt is offered Fridays and Saturdays from Sept. 20 through Oct. 26. On Saturdays, the park opens at 11 a.m.; the transformation into Halloween Haunt begins at 5 p.m.
