After reopening under new ownership this year, The Beach Waterpark is again making waves in the water park industry.
The Mason water park received four Wave Review Awards, which recognize excellence in marketing, at the World Waterpark Association’s Symposium and Trade Show held Sept. 30-Oct. 3 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The Beach — which had been closed since September 2011 — reopened this summer with $5 million worth of upgrades under new operators, Florida-based Adventure Holdings, LLC.
The park’s former owners closed the park after its 2011 season citing flat attendance and rising costs and later filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in federal court. That case is still pending.
The Beach received Wave Review awards in categories for Best Promotion (Up to 100,000 Attendance), Best Email Campaign (Up to 100,000 Attendance), Best Social Media Campaign (Up to 100,000 Attendance), and Best Radio Commercial (Up to 100,000 Attendance).
The park is now closed for the 2013 season and will reopen in May 2014.
