W&S Open casting for youth to sing ‘National Anthem’

Western & Southern openDo you have what it takes to sing the National Anthem at one of the world’s premier tennis tournaments?

The Western & Southern open is accepting video auditions from youngsters ages 7-17 through June 14 on its Casting Call Facebook page. Videos can be of any song, but must be at least 30 seconds long and sung in an a cappella format.

A limited number of performers will be selected to sing live on Fountain Square between 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Friday, June 28 in front of a panel of celebrity judges.   Tennis courts will be set up on the square, with other activities and giveaways offered.

“This is always one of the highlights of the summer as we get ready for the Western & Southern Open,” said Will Sikes, the tournament’s director of marketing and communications.  “The talent we have in Cincinnati is amazing, and we are thrilled to be able to give kids and young adults the chance to perform at one of the top tennis events in the world.”

The tournament, set for Aug. 10-18 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, boasts an international television audience of more than 60 million fans and is broadcast domestically on Tennis Channel, ESPN2 and CBS

The 10-day August tennis tournament held at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason boasts an international television audience of more than 59 million fans and is broadcast domestically on Tennis Channel, ESPN2 and CBS

“We have discovered some amazing talent the last few years for the Western & Southern Open,” said Will Sikes, the tournament’s director of marketing and communications. “I’m sure this year will be no different. The judges will have a difficult time choosing the best performers.”

‘Big Brother’ casting in Cincinnati

Do you have what it takes to be on reality TV?  Cincinnati is one of 15 cities producers of CBS’ “Big Brother” will visit in its tour for open casting calls.

Enquirer reporter John Kiesewetter has the details on his TV & Media Blog:

“Big Brother” will hold an open casting call  at Lunar, 435 Elm St., downtown from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, April 7th. Publicist Kim Sheridan says people “will arrive downstairs in Launch, and be brought up to Lunar to provide 1-minute videos for casting directors and producers.” You must be 21 years old and a US citizen.

You also may apply at the Big Brother site here before May 11.  Some FAQs from the Big Brother site:

–If you applied last year, you must apply again this year.

–Based on past years, the show will air live from Los Angeles from early July to late September.

–Call backs are scheduled for May and June.

An open casting call also will be held in Louisville on Saturday April 14 (1 p.m.-4 p.m.) at T.G.I.Friday’s, 415 South 4th St., Louisville KY 40202.

MTV’s “Made” to hold open auditions for adults in Mason

Local residents can audition to be on reality TV on Saturday, March 19.

The Emmy-winning MTV series “Made” will hold open auditions in Mason from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. that day at Hope Church, 4934 Western Row Road, Mason.

The show, which previously featured teenagers achieving their dreams, is now casting for adults ages 25-50 to air on sister CMT channel.

Says the CMT “Made” website:

MTV’s Emmy award-winning series, Made, has helped hundreds of teens transform their lives by pursuing their dreams. Now Made is coming to CMT — giving parents and professionals the opportunity to achieve their goals.

Do you have something you want to prove to your family? Do you often dream about getting back into your cheerleading uniform, winning a cook-off, rocking out with your old band or getting another swing at that pitch that got away?

The series will premiere later this year on CMT.  You can also apply online on the show site.

Auditions will also be held from 5 – 9 p.m. Thursday, March 17 at Gateway Community and Technical College in Florence.
