Fairborn Police is seeking the public’s help in locating a man who they say fleeced an elderly couple in a home improvement scam.
Police say that a man posing as a representative for Water Pro in Deerfield Township approached an elderly Fairborn couple about installing a water purifying system.
The couple provided the man, who called himself “Larry Foster,” with a check for $1,000. The work was to be completed the following week.
Instead, the suspect cashed the check at a bank in Dayton using a passport for identification and did not complete the work. Police say he may be driving an older model white Lincoln.
Anyone with information on the suspect should call CrimeStoppers at 513-352-3040 or Officer Kordish with the Fairborn Police Department at 937-754-3000. All calls can be made anonymously and tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward.
