Mason High School took home the coveted INTERalliance Cup at the INTERAlliance TechOlympics, held March 2-4 Downtown.
Teams from 73 high schools in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area participated in the 16-event competition, which also included an inter-school “Technology Showcase.”
Mason’s team racked up more than 46,000 points for its first place finish.
The event is sponsored by INTERalliance of Greater Cincinnati, a collaborative effort of Greater Cincinnati regional businesses and educators seeking to create an environment that retains young I.T. talent.
Students had the opportunity to participate in sessions such as robotics, 3D animation, web and game design and mobile app development, and meet with representatives of local colleges and tech businesses.
“Too often really bright talent from our area seek education or career fulfillment in other high-tech regions of the country,” said Jim Scott, chairman of the Board of Directors of INTERalliance and CIO, KnowledgeWorks.
“The reality is that the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area has abundant and well regarded programs and world-class career opportunities at Fortune 100, 500, and 1,000 companies for students interested in these fields.”
