Three Mason High School choirs earned top marks Saturday at the Ohio Music Education Association Large Group Choir Contest held at Lakota East High School.
The school’s concert, Bel Canto and women’s choir all earned superior ratings. Each choir performed three choral pieces and one sight-reading piece.
Choirs were evaluated on tone, intonation, interpretation and technique. OMEA uses a rating scale of 1(superior) to 5 (poor).
“This was a wonderful performance by our choirs, and brings pride to our school and community,” said choral director Elaine Santos.
