- Mason senior Maureen Sullivan verbally committed to swim at Miami University on Sunday night, according to her father, Mason coach Mark Sullivan.
Maureen is a backstroker and sprint freestyler. She has been a state qualifier in all three years in swimming. She was a state finalist in the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay. She qualified in four events at last year’s state meet – 100 backstroke, 50 freestyle, 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.
- Mason senior infielder Jacob Ball committed to Ashland last month, according to Mason coach Curt Bly.
- Ohio State offered Mason junior pitcher/first baseman Rodney Hutchison on Saturday, according to Mason baseball coach Curt Bly.
Hutchison, who is 6 feet 3, has been clocked in the 90 miles-per-hour plus range, Bly said. He has offers from UC, Miami University and Kent State.
Hutchison, who was second-team all-GMC last season, hit .359 with five doubles, four home runs, 38 RBI and two stolen bases for the Comets (26-1) last season.
