A Mason nurse is being hailed as a “shining example” in the field of nursing.
Ellen Alexander of Mason was recently honored with the TriHealth Director’s Award for Excellence in Nursing.
Alexander, a post-anasthesia care unit nurse at Bethesda North Hospital, is one of four Cincinnati area nurses to be recognized with the honor.
The award honors nurses at TriHealth hospitals who demonstrate independent judgment and expertise, lifelong learning and specialized knowledge, advocacy and commitment to patients, community and involvement in professional organizations and serve as a “shining example” for TriHealth’s “culture of excellence.”
This is the first year for the award.
Hailed as a strong patient advocate, Alexander was honored for her commitment and knowledge, as well as her promotion of patient education, according to a press release issued by TriHealth.
In addition to her work at Bethesda North, Alexander is also involved with the Dayton chapter of Hospice and the American Cancer Society.
The four winners were chosen from 13 nominees selected from among 2,000 staff nurses at TriHealth.
Alexander received a trophy and small gift, a trip to a national conference and paid professional organization dues.
