Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post #9622 in Mason donated $5,000 this week to Kings Schools.
VFW Commander Thomas Barker and Adjunct Bill Hinton presented a $2,000 donation to Kings Mills Elementary for student programs and another $3,000 to Kings High School for its scholarship fund on Thursday.
Members of the VFW adopted Kings Schools after participating in Kings Mills Elementary’s Veteran’s Day Parade on Nov. 11.
The organization is open to all veterans and the VFW will cover all first-year dues for new members, said Barker.
